The
Tech Prep program offers students from every high school in
Orange County the opportunity to get a “head start” on
a career by focusing on technical high school electives that
will help train them for high-skill, high-wage occupations.
Students can begin to earn Technical Center
certificates in the dual enrollment
program while attending high school.
Dual
enrollment students also have the opportunity to earn scholarships
into postsecondary programs at Orlando Tech as well
as elective credits to Valencia Community College, and Seminole
Community College. Many of the postsecondary programs then
articulate to advanced programs at community colleges.
There
is no cost to the high school student who elects to come
to Orlando Tech as a dual enrollment student. OCPS provides
transportation to and from the home high school. The dual
enrolled student spends part of the day at Orlando Tech,
earning elective credits and the remainder of the day at
the high school, earning academic credits.
