Child Care Apprenticeship Program

This program is intended for individuals currently employed in a child care facility working under a credentialed supervisor. Students receive observation and evaluation visits at their child care facility employment site.
Child Care Apprenticeship Program Teaches:
- to establish and maintain a safe and healthy learning environment for young children
- to help children advance physically and intellectually
- to support children’s social and emotional development with positive guidance
- to establish positive relationships with families
- to ensure a well-run program for children
- to maintain a commitment to professionalism in their career
Credits Awarded at Community College: Students are eligible to receive up to nine credits toward completion of an AAS/AS Early Childhood Education Degree at a Florida community college.

Starting Salary:
- $8.00 to $11.00 per hour

Industry Certifications or Accreditations:
- Child Care Apprenticeship Certificate
- Automatic verification of a Florida Staff Credential upon program completion
Total Cost:
- There is no fee for attending this program
Program Length:
- 300 in class hours
- 4000 Job Experience Hours
Requirements:
- 18 years of age
- TABE Test
- Standard High School Diploma or GED
- Current employment in a Child Care Facility

Class Schedule:
- Monday and Wednesday, 6:15pm to 8:45pm
