CPR Initial Training: 8 Hours
Basic Life Support for Health Care Providers
Purpose of training:For participants who must have a credential (a card) documenting successful completion of a course in CPR and BLS for healthcare professionals.
The American Heart Association developed this course to improve rates of survival from sudden cardiac arrest by strengthening the Chain of Survival in every health care setting. emphasizes the importance of early activation of 911, CPR (with mouth-to-mouth and bag mask ventilation), and use of an AED, teaches relief of foreign-body airway obstruction (FBAO) in responsive and unresponsive victims. Attempts to prevent disability and death and the need for CPR by teaching warning signs of heart attack, respiratory arrest, and stroke in adults. Methods will be taught to reduce death caused by sudden infant death syndrome in infants and injuries in children .

Domestic Violence (online)
Purpose of training:
This course discusses causes and interventions. Deals with the facts and myths of violence and abuse in the family setting. Provides the healthcare worker with guidelines regarding assessment and information gathering that may lead to clues of hidden abuse. It provides community resource information.

First Aid American Heart Association
Purpose of training: This 4 hour basis course cover general principles of first aid, medical emergencies, and injury emergencies, plus a section on environmental emergencies. Included in the training are those interventions that can be applied by a trained lay rescuer and that have been shown to make a difference. |

HIV/AIDS Seminar (online) Jan 2008
Purpose of Training : Each person licensed or certified must complete an initial 4 hour continuing educational course by the Florida Department of Professional Regulations on human immunodeficiency virus and acquired immune deficiency syndrome as part of biennial re-licensure or re-certificaton.
Course includes education on the modes of transmission/ Infection control procedures, clinical management, and prevention of human immunodeficiency/ Virus and acquired immune deficiency syndrome/Information on current Florida law on acquired immune deficiency syndrome, and its impact on testing, confidentiality of test results/ Treatment of patients and any protocols and procedures applicable to human immunodeficiency virus, counseling and testing, reporting, the offering of HIV testing to pregnant women and partner notification issues.
