Aid for Single Parents and Nontraditional Occupations
The Equity Department administers two
programs that provide financial assistance for occupational training
to individuals who qualify.
Single Parent program: For single
parents, single pregnant women, and displaced homemakers.
You must have a high school diploma or GED. Requirements
include academic standards, financial qualifications,
and attending five pre-enrollment sessions with emphasis
on career assessment and planning.

Non-traditional training: for persons
pursuing occupational training in fields where 25%
or less of the employees are of their gender. You
must have a high school diploma or GED. |

Paperwork required for financial
aid. |
| 3. |
Attend five pre-enrollment
sessions (Five 1/2days including orientation, career assessment,
counseling, and Successful Student class). |

Pre-enrollment sessions are
usually scheduled monthly. After meeting all the qualifications, students
may be enrolled in training. For those who qualify, financial
aid may include tuition, fees,
books, supplies, and childcare.
