The mission of the Dental Assisting Program is to enlighten, Challenge and prepare students in a career and profession in Dental Assisting.
Introduction
The Dental Assisting Program at Orlando
Tech is accredited by the American Dental Association Commission
on Dental Accreditation. Graduates of the Dental Assisting
Program are qualified to take the Dental Assisting National
Board examination. Graduates are awarded a Florida State
Expanded Functions Certificate as required by the Florida State
Board of Dentistry. For more information about Dental

Dental Assistants Association. Students
are required to take the Dental Assisting National Board Examination
for certification.

Daytime
and evening programs begin in August and January.
Admission Requirements
Applicants must be at least 18 years
of age with a high school diploma or GED equivalent. They
must meet and interview with a school guidance counselor and
complete all application requirements. They must also meet FDLE criminal background check.
Program Information
The 1230 hour program includes infection
control, dental anatomy, dental materials, chairside assisting
skills, dental radiology, preventive dentistry, office emergencies
and pharmacology, office management, pathology, psychology,
communications and employability skills.
