for initial employment in the garment and textile industry. The
program is intended to produce graduates who are prepared
for employment as a seamstress, power machine/specialists
machine operator, alterationist, dress/costume maker, alterationist
for fine clothing and custom clothier. |

| The program provides training
in the basic skills essential to working in the apparel
production industry: communication, applied math, interpersonal
relations and organizational skills; the selection, use,
and care of equipment; tools and supplies used in the apparel
trades; and demonstration of knowledge and skill in clothing
