- 9 credits toward completion of an AAS/AS Early Childhood Education Degree at Community College level.

9(L) - Background Screening Check and Affidavit of Good Moral Character
Program Completion Requirements:
- Minimum TABE Score of Grade 9 or documented exemption
- Completion of DCF State Mandated Introductory Training Competency Exams including Preschool Appropriate Practices and a DCF approved 5 Hour Literacy Training
- Documentation of 480 hours direct work with children 5 years of age or younger in a licensed child care facility with a credentialed supervisor
- Documented observation by a qualified observer
- Completion of a Professional Resource File
- Demonstration of competency in the 8 child care content areas
- Submission of a completed ECPC application and all documentation to the Early Childhood Education instructor
- High School Diploma or GED
Starting Salary:
- $10 - $15 per hour

Program Length:
- 600 hours
(120 hours related instruction + 480 hours direct experience)
