Residency Verification

Tuition is determined by state residency status. To qualify for resident tuition you must present one of the following forms of documentation at the time of application.

Independent persons must meet one of the following requirments:

  • Florida Driver License or State ID: Issue date must be 12 months prior to application
  • Florida Vehicle Registration: Issue date must be 12 months prior to application
  • Florida Voter Registration Card: Issue date must be 12 months prior to application
  • Declaration of Domicile: Issue date must be 12 months prior to application

Special Circumstances:

  1. Previously enrolled at a Florida State institution: Student must present transcript reflecting Florida residency status 12 months prior to applying at Orlando Tech.
  2. Permanent resident alien or other legal alien: Student must present INS documentation of indefinite stay and have maintained domicile in Florida for 12 months.
  3. Employee of a State Agency: Student must present letter from agency documenting employment.
  4. Active member of Florida National Guard: Student must present documentation of National Guard Status.
  5. Member of Armed Services: Student must present a copy of military orders DD2058.

Dependent persons must meet the following requirements:

Child or Dependent of Resident: Student must present most recent tax return where you were claimed as dependent. Resident must also submit above documents.

Spouse of Resident: Student must present marriage certificate. Residents must also submit above documents.

Child of a Florida School employee: Student must present employment verification.
