Vocational Preparatory Instruction:

The purpose of the Vocational Preparatory Instructional Laboratory (VPI) is to assess, evaluate, and remediate an individual's aptitude and achievement in relation to his/her goal for technical skills training. Diagnostic tests are given which determine the individual's educational level in mathematics, language, and reading.

The student may need to improve his/her preparation so that success may be achieved in the program of study. An individualized program is prescribed with the goal of helping the student master the curriculum of the technical program. Frequently, the student participates in the VPI laboratory at the same time he/she is beginning the job preparatory competencies. An additional fee may be charged for the VPI lab.
