Orlando Tech began serving the residents of Orange County in 1933 and was formerly known as Orange County Vocational School. Orlando Tech opened in 1981 at the current site at 301 West Amelia Street, Orlando, Florida. This 135,000 square-foot, five-story building is located in downtown Orlando just west of Interstate 4 at the intersection of Hughey and Amelia Streets. Orlando Tech students and faculty represent a broad spectrum of cultural, national and ethnic backgrounds reflective of the surrounding community.

Learning at Orlando Tech is enhanced by a campus-wide electronic delivery system of multimedia learning resources used to deliver state of the art instruction to our students. Orlando Tech provides training in the following career clusters: Arts, Audio-Visual Technology and Communications; Business Administrative Services; Education and Training Services and Health Services with patient care specializations. Eighteen technical training programs and two licensure programs are offered to residents.

In partnership with the Digital Media Banner Center, Orlando Tech provides incumbent workers, teachers and students with training and industry certification in a variety of Digital Media Arts programs. Orlando Tech has been designated as an Adobe Certified Training Center, offering coursework and certification in a variety of Adobe software applications.

The center is accredited by the Commission of the Council on Occupational Education and the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Council on Accreditation and School Improvement. Dental Assisting, Practical Nursing and Surgical Technology programs are recognized, certified, approved or accredited by the following professional associations.

  • Florida State Board of Nursing

Orlando Tech also offers dual enrollment, GED test preparation, Adult English Literacy and Community Education programs. The Center for Business and Industry Training provides customized training to area businesses and other regional employees.

Our commitment to the community has earned Orlando Tech the 5-Star School Award and the Golden School Award recognizing the business/education partnerships established with the local community and individual residents. Faculty and staff work closely with the School Advisory Council, Partners in Education and ADDitions volunteers to enhance learning opportunities for all students.
